About WhichSpaResort
WhichSpaResort publishes honest guides to the world's spa destinations — thermal towns, hot springs, onsen villages and destination spas. The premise is simple: most spa travel writing is advertising with adjectives, and choosing the wrong kind of spa destination is an expensive mistake. We'd rather talk you out of a place that doesn't suit you than sell you on one that doesn't exist.
How guides are written
Each guide is researched from primary sources — the venues' own published schedules, rules and pricing, regional tourism data, and the documented history of each destination — and is edited to a single standard: would this have changed how you booked? We publish a small number of deep guides rather than thousands of shallow ones, and we only add a destination when we can say something a booking site can't.
The rules we hold ourselves to
- No invented ratings. We don't publish star scores, "9.4/10" badges, or aggregate ratings we didn't collect. If you see a number on this site, it has a source or it's clearly labelled an estimate.
- Prices are ranges, dated, and hedged. Spa pricing changes seasonally. We give orientation figures and always tell you to verify before booking.
- Every place gets a "skip it if". No destination suits everyone. Each guide says plainly who should not book.
- Corrections are welcome. If something is out of date or wrong, tell us and we'll fix the page, not defend it.

See our disclosure page. In short: the site currently contains no affiliate links or sponsored content. If that ever changes, links will be disclosed on every page that carries them, and commercial relationships will never decide what we recommend.
